Longview 4H Beef Club Receives National Philanthropy Day Award

On Tuesday, November 25 2022, the Longview 4H Beef Club were awarded with the Generosity of Spirit Award - Youth Category by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). The Club was nominated by the team at the High River District Hospital Foundation and were thrilled to hear that this amazing youth group is being recognized for their Charity Steer program and raising almost $500,000 for charities in the past fifteen years.

Representatives from the Club included Kate Wedderburn, Blake Kilpatrick, Kayden Lewis, Ross Lewis and Stephen Hughes. The AFP award process included a professionally produced video about the Club and the project, an awards luncheon and a handblown glass award created by Julia Reimer of Firebrand Glass Studio in Black Diamond.

Wendy Kennelly, Executive Director of the Foundation says, ‘Recognizing this youth group is important to our Foundation. They work so hard to help the larger community through their charity steer sale.  So many Club members, over the years, have made a positive impact on healthcare in the area.  We are so grateful.’

Congratulations to the many club members and parent leaders over the years that are being recognized with this national philanthropy award.
