2022 Points of Light Holiday Campaign

Tree Lighting Ceremony 2022

For three decades the Foothills community has supported the Foundation’s annual Points of Light Campaign and this year was an amazing show of support for palliative care programs and spiritual care services at the hospital.

We kicked off with a tree lighting ceremony on November 30th and it included a presentation by Chaplain Darrin Parkin about the significance of light during grief + cocoa & cookies for families who joined us to light the trees.

Donations were made in honor, or in memory, of loved ones and this year 298 lights were lit on the spruce trees in front of the hospital. Along with our Holiday Hometown Healthcare 50-50, we raised over $17,000 for these important programs at the hospital.

Thank you to the FortisAlberta ‘elves’ who trim the trees with lights and to Monty Southgate and the Kinsmen Club ‘elves’ for setting up our Candy Cane Lane Display.
