2023 Longview 4-H Beef Club Charity Steer

It was a successful day for all the members of the Longview 4-H Beef Club at their annual Show & Sale on May 22nd. Congratulations to all the members and thank you to all of the buyers for supporting their efforts to raise such excellent stock.

The donation steer “Sir Loin” weighed in at 1,603 lbs and raised an amazing $43,400! Thank you to everyone who supported the Eastern Slopes Philanthropist Group. They were the first buyer, who then donated the steer back and to Transcend LLP who had the final bid.

Thanks to Meridian Cattle Company for donating the steer and Emma Longson for taking care of him and ensuring he gained well!

These local teens have incredible energy and a passion to give back to their community. The High River District Health Care Foundation is honoured to be the recipient of funds raised through the charity steer project.
